At a glance, this poster may seem to have nothing to do with production during the War but in reality it references one of the main reasons that the production could happen in the first place, money. Liberty Bonds were the main economic variable during World War I. Money borrowed from the public accounted for more than half of the total money used toward the war effort. Posters like these were extremely effective at gaining large sums of money for government use. Much of this money went directly to the factories which were producing equipment for foreign nations and later for use of the Americans that entered the War. Though foreign nations were buying much of their military supply from the US, much of this equipment was purchased on “credit” rather than paid for directly, as there were more pertinent issues than payment at hand. This money often went toward buying raw materials that could be formed into anything and everything needed for battle. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ca/70/f6/ca70f6e8cc1a3dc9abc961059917fce7.jpg
